S1E5: The Immigration Controversy

“Give me your tired, your poor,
Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.
Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me,
I lift my lamp beside the golden door!”

That appears on a placard The Statue of Liberty and is an excerpt from "The New Colossus."  The meaning is clear, but have times changed?

Join me as I discuss the recent immigration controversy, particularly the separation of families blamed on Trump's policies, the public outcry which caused a change, and my thoughts about immigration.

Unlawful entry is a crime, misdemeanor.  Repeats can be a felony.

Unlawful presence is apparently not a crime, though people can be deported.
